SCIENTISTS based in Mostyn have received £10 million worth of funding.
As the Leader reported in November, 2006, revolutionary "non-stick" chewing gum has been developed at research labs at Warwick International's Mostyn site, alongside Bristol-based research company Revolymer.

Scientists hope the gum will keep its taste for longer and be easily removed from pavements, and it is anticipated the major funding boost could bring the new product to market next year.

It is hoped the gum will go on sale to the public under its own brand, after preliminary results showed the gum successfully degraded naturally in water and disappeared from pavements within 24 hours.

Revolymer claims its new invention could save Britain the millions of pounds each year that is spent on removing discarded gum from streets.
