AN apprentice machinist from Cheshire has been disqualified from driving after Wrexham magistrates heard he had driven without insurance twice in two years.
Jamie Salisbury, 21, of Pump Lane, Churton, near Chester, admitted driving without insurance in Wrexham on April 3.
Magistrates heard he had committed a similar offence in 2005 for which he was given six penalty points.
The court was told Salisbury faced a ban under the totting-up procedures.
Salisbury, who represented himself in court, asked not to be banned, claiming a disqualification would give him exceptional hardship.
He said he would have trouble getting to work and college if he was banned and said he often helped his disabled father with his shopping.
However, magistrates did not agree a ban would pose exceptional hardship and banned him from driving for six months and added seven penalty points to his licence.
Salisbury was fined £200 and told to pay court costs of £35 and a £15 surcharge.
