WREXHAM'S very own gold Olympic medallist is set for a hero's welcome when he comes home later this month.
Coedpoeth rower Tom James took gold in Beijing on Saturday as part of Britain's men's coxless fours.

Yesterday his proud parents Mike and Julia spoke to the Leader of their joy at their 24-year-old son's achievements.

Now Wrexham Council's deputy chief executive Malcolm Russell has sent the council's congratulations to Tom and said it will be looking for an appropriate way of recognising his magnificent achievement.

At Wrexham FC, spokesman Geraint Parry said that when Tom has got his feet back on the ground the club would be delighted to invite him to one of the side's games.
