A Flintshire dance hall has reopened for business after being restored by a local entrepreneur.
The Academy Dance Hall, on Mold Road, Buckley, formerly known as the Albert Hall, was converted to a social club in the 1960s and later a children's play facility before finally being restored to its former glory.
Neil Diack, 36, from Buckley, who
teaches jive at the Academy, said: "I took the opportunity to restore the place back to a dance hall. Many older people pop in to see what its like now and share stories of when they used to come dancing here."
Classes on offer at the dance hall include salsa, modern jive, line-dancing, pole dancing, tango and ballroom as well as various other weekly dance and fitness classes, and is soon set to open a "fit for life" class for children aged eight onwards.
The Academy is also on the lookout for bands who would like to showcase themselves at one of the club's forthcoming live music nights and is looking for fitness and dance instructors.
The hall is available for wedding receptions, birthday parties, wakes and conferences, and has a licensed bar.
