A DOZEN of the Vale of Clwyd's finest working men demonstrated they have the bare-faced cheek to go au naturel in the name of a North Wales charity.
A motor mechanic, electrician, personal trainer, chef, hairdresser – in all, twelve Cheeky Chappies from all walks of life agreed to pose for this saucy calendar to raise money for the North Wales Cancer Service based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

The calendar was the brainchild of Company Director and 'Mr July' Roger Everett.

Roger, whose Ruthin factory produces car service protection products, approached local photographers Jayne and Chris Birchall. Chris said: "He got me to agree to the project first and only then did he tell me it was to be blokes and not women.

"At that stage he'd only got three people lined up, but he's a very persuasive man, Roger.

"Within a week he presented me with a list of twelve names and phone numbers".

As makeover portrait specialists, Jayne and Chris are no strangers to photographing the body beautiful.

Jayne said: "We hadn't a clue what we'd be up against until the lads started turning up at the studio, especially because we'd been told their ages ranged from 21 to 61.

"And whereas we use make-up and airbrushing to enhance our beauty portraits, for the calendar we'd have to keep things more natural."

Chris added:"All the guys were actually in pretty good shape,

"So we decided to shoot them close-up in the studio, instead of them being lost within a landscape like most charity calendars."

Everyone involved in the project, including the printers, gave their time, talent and bodies for free which means all the proceeds will go to the charity.

A list of places selling the calendar is available at www.beautyphoto.co.uk/cheeky and will be updated as more outlets agree to stock it.
