Choir's 'bum note' billboard halts London traffic

FRONCYSYLLTE Male Voice Choir is causing a stir in London after a cheeky billboard poster was put up in the capital to promote the choir's new album.
The advertisement with a difference was placed in Vauxhall to promote the choir's new album and their revealing calendar to raise funds for Help The Aged's Isolation Campaign, caused traffic chaos along South Lambeth Road during rush hour traffic.
In scenes not witnessed since the advent of the infamous Wonderbra 'Hello Boys' advertising campaign, it is claimed commuter traffic was brought to a standstill as drivers stopped to have a good look at the poster showing five bare bottomed choristers with the slogan "We Never Hit a Bum Note".
Daniel Glatman, former manager of boyband Blue who discovered the choir and brought them success last year defended the poster, saying: "It's just a bit of fun, and there to help promote the choir's calendar that was released recently in support of Help The Aged's Isolation Campaign."
This is the second time that the choir's revealing charity calendar has courted controversy.
Last week, a confidential internal memo from North Wales Fire Service's assistant Chief Fire Officer Paul Claydon to his staff was leaked to a newspaper.
It followed the publication in the Fron's charity calendar of a picture of fireman and chorister Berwyn Jones in just his fireman's helmet, boots and strategically positioned water spray.
The memo warned that firefighters would face disciplinary action if they take part in charity stunts which perpetuate the "Jack the Lad" image of the service.
Dave Jones, chairman of the Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir, said: "I don't think we've ever caused such a stir.
"Isn't it fantastic that a bunch of Welsh boys with an average age of 66 can still stop traffic and cause such a commotion, for such a good cause."
