Flintshire commuters were stopped in their tracks this morning (August 1), after a herd of cows swamped the A541 dual carriageway.
The herd had escaped from a side field near Plas Teg off the A541 between Pontblyddyn and Caergwrle at around 7.50am.

Police rushed to the scene to control the rush hour traffic, while a farmer made efforts to direct the herd back into the field.

Commuter, Chris Davies, said: "There were about 50 cows taking up both sides of the dual carriageway and holding up traffic.

"The rush hour traffic was only affected for a short time.

"I was only delayed for about ten minutes."

Nathan Fuller was also delayed a few minutes later, after the majority of the cattle had been rounded up.

Mr Fuller said: "There were two cows, one on either side of the road and they both crossed to join each other in the middle.

"It brought the traffic travelling towards Wrexham to a standstill and everyone was going really slowly in the Mold direction."

"It's not something you see everyday on your way to work," he added.
