NEW electronic bus passes have been introduced in Denbighshire.
Eligible bus pass holders across the County are to receive the new Smartcards bus passes, which have a unique serial number so buses will soon be able to read the identification number and validate the pass.

Produced by the Welsh Assembly Government, the Smartcards will offer the same free entitlement to the 21,000 pass holders currently registered in Denbighshire.

The new passes will shortly need to be scanned by new on-bus card readers, instructions for the Smartcards will be included in an introductory pack which will be issued to all concessionary travel pass holders.

Mandatory travel concessions came into force in Wales in April 2002 and offers free travel to disabled people and people of 60 years of age across Wales, concessions have now also been extended to non-household persons, who may need to reapply to ensure they still show they are eligible.

The new Smartcards will be sent automatically.

For further information contact Denbighshire's Passenger Support Team on 01824 706886.
