FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire in a shop on Lord Street in Wrexham this morning.
North Wales Fire Service received a call at 7.45am, Tuesday May 13, that Denbighshire Travel in Wrexham was on fire.

Three appliances as well as the aerial ladder from Wrexham were sent and Lord Street was cordoned off while firefighters tackled the blaze.

Denbighshire Travel includes a travel agency and a cafe.

Eyewitness Simon Jones, who works at Oxfam on Lord Street, said: "I got to work this morning and the firemen were smashing their way in to get into the building. There was loads of smoke coming out.

"They had trouble getting in but once they did, it was dealt with very quickly."

Fire investigators are currently at the scene determining the cause of the blaze.
