Connah's Quay is currently facing the prospect of running out of burial space, as the town's Bryn Road cemetery can only provide for the town for another 11 months, before becoming too full.
Talks are ongoing about building a new graveyard at Kels
terton Farm, but there are fears among town councillors it may not be ready in time.
Preparing for the worst, Gary Feather, Connah's Quay Town Council clerk, wrote to members of Flint Town Council, asking for permission to use Flint's Old London Road cemetery in times of desperation.
Flint Coleshill councillor, Alex Aldridge, immediately answered the plea and stressed the importance of helping neighbouring towns.
He said: "It goes without saying there is absolutely no way this town council would see a situation where grieving families are having to worry about burying their loved ones.
"People want to be able to say goodbye to their relatives as close to their home town as possible, so they can go and visit the graveside easily.
"We have absolutely no objections to helping Connah's Quay residents.
It is all about showing friendship and compassion to our neighbouring towns and we will do whatever we can to help Connah's Quay with this very sensitive issue."
