Flintshire soldier injured in Afghanistan bomb attack

A YOUNG Flintshire soldier will return home to visit his family today after being badly injured in a bomb attack in Afghanistan.
Peter Bowker, of Uplands Avenue, Connah's Quay, nearly lost a leg in the explosion.
He is on crutches and will be unable to walk for several months.
The former Connah's Quay High School pupil's leg was broken in four places and his ankle shattered.
His heel was also badly damaged.
He has been receiving treatment at a military hospital in Birmingham.
Peter, who is in his early 20s, joined the Army at the age of 16 after doing his GCSEs.
After military training in Harrogate and being based in Germany for more than a year, he was sent to Iraq in April 2006 before going to Afghanistan.
