CHESTER Zoo staff are moving on up and taking on new roles.
It's all change in the animal division with new team leaders for both the giraffe and elephant sections.

Former giraffe team leader Tim Rowlands, known to many due to the Chester Zoo tv series 'Zoo Days', has taken up the post of assistant curator of mammals. Belinda Porter has taken over as giraffe team leader, the fourth person to hold that position in 74-years.

Tim has been at the zoo for 24 years and was team leader of giraffes for 10 years. Belinda has been with the zoo for nine years.

There is also a new face at the elephants where Evelyn De Wolf takes over as team leader. Evelyn joins the zoo from Bellewaerde Park in Belgium where she was the animal curator.

Kevin Buley, head of Zoo Programmes, said: "As we continue to successfully grow and expand, new opportunities arise for our dedicated staff. Tim is a well-known face at the zoo and brings a wealth of experience to his new post.

"He is ably succeeded by Belinda, who is just the fourth giraffe team leader in the zoo's history.

"These new appointments reflect the wealth of experience we have here and we look forward to great developments within the animal collection in the future."
