A WELSH beauty is off to Belgium next Monday to take part in a prestigious European beauty pageant.
College student Lowri Wilson, 17, of Trevor, near Llangollen, will compete in the Miss European International Beauty Pageant after winning her heat in Llandudno.

Lowri will be taking part in the finals along with a number of other girls from Wales four days later.

The Yale College science student will compete for the overall prize against entrants from other countries, including Holland and Germany.

She said: "I'm really excited – I've done a lot of modelling but never any pageants before.

"From what I've been told there will be different rounds, with things like evening wear, swimwear and wedding dresses."
