A FOLK festival is set to pull the crowds into Mold this summer.
The event, costing up to £21,000, is aimed at reflecting the rich artistic and folk culture that has developed and survived in the town for centuries.

Organisers, Cymdeithas Gwyl Tegeingl, have applied for sponsorship from Mold Town Council towards the costs.

The event is planned for August 15 to 17 and it is hoped there will be a number of events in a marquee in the Rugby Club building on Chester Road.

It will be the first festival of this kind in the town.

A grant is needed to launch the festival by securing bands, musicians and dance groups as well as contributing towards marketing and equipment hire.

The organisers gave the town council an opportunity to fund a specific event or give a donation to the general running costs of the weekend. Mold Town council decided to give £250 in support of the event.
