A MOTHER has appeared at court to deny murdering her daughter.
Joanne Marie Hill, 31, of Goya Close, Connah's Quay appeared at Chester Crown Court for a brief plea and case management hearing to deny one charge of murdering four-year-old Naomi Hill on November 26.

Naomi was pronounced dead at the Countess of Chester Hospital in the early hours of November 27.

Hill, who used to live in Newton, Chester appeared in the dock before the Recorder of Chester, Judge Elgan Edwards.

The plea and case management hearing was adjourned from February 18 because of a defence request for a psychiatric report.

A pre-trial review will take place on June 18 where a trial date will be fixed.

Psychiatric reports now need to be undertaken on Hill, who is in custody at Styal Prison.

Judge Edwards extended the custody limit of Hill and vacated a previously set trial date of June 6.
