A Flint school's new head teacher has high hopes for the future after her first week in the role.
Pamela McClean, took up her new post at Flint High School on Monday after returning to the area from Prenton High School in Birkenhead, where she served as deputy headteacher for three years.
Before that she was assistant head and head of languages at Hawarden High School and she has also worked at Mold Alun.
She said: "I am excited at the prospect of working with all the governors, staff, pupils, parents and carers, who make up Flint High School.
"I have high expectations for our school and welcome this wonderful opportunity to serve the community and its learners, who deserve the best.
"We want our young people to aim high to compete in our rapidly changing society and to be compassionate and tolerant individuals, who can lead fulfilling lives.
"I shall be working very closely with Miss Jayne Kelly, the head of the new special school due to open in September 2009 on our shared site, which will benefit youngsters from both schools."
