CINEMA tickets to see award-winning films are at a reduced price for the over-50s this month.
Insurance firm RIAS is sponsoring Senior Screen at Odeon cinemas across the UK, which gives more mature film fans a chance to see a special collection of top-rated films in its Award Winning Film Season.

Film fans will be able to watch The Valley
of Elah from Friday, April 11, at Wrexham Odeon on the Plas Coch retail park, the first of several critically acclaimed films to be shown during the event which runs from April 11 to May 9.

The Valley of Elah was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 and won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2007.

Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, the film tells the story of a career officer and his wife who try to find out what happened when their son disappears after a tour of duty in Iraq.

Other titles to be screened throughout the month-long film event include Juno, which won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, Oscar winning Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp, Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and No Country for Old Men which scooped four Oscars at this year's ceremony, including the top awards for Best Director and Best Film.

Tickets for all of these films will be available at the discounted Senior Screen rate available to anyone over the age of 50.

There will also be free tea, coffee and biscuits available in the foyer before each film .
