MEET some of the contestants in line for the first ever official Miss Flintshire prize - part of the Miss Wales beauty competition.
This years is the first time the Miss Wales organisation has run a heat for the national competition in Flintshire.
The top three girls will qualify for the Miss Wales 2009 grand final in Cardiff in summer next year.
Girls from across Flintshire flocked to Pentre Halkyn's Springfield Hotel for the semi-final, and organisers said they were delighted with the turnout.
Paula Abbandonato, director of Vibe Models, which runs Miss Wales for the Miss World organisation, said: "We were really pleased with the response we had to our first Miss Flintshire and really want more North Wales girls in our Miss Wales finals from 2009 onwards.
"We have met a lot of lovely young women with good looks and great personalities who are all looking forward to doing what they can in our bid to raise £100,000 for The Joshua Foundation – a charity for children with terminal cancer."
