Responsibility for parking enforcement - including clamping down on motorists who park on double-yellow lines - is set to change hands from North Wales Police to the county council.
Parking enforcement has been decriminalised in other parts of the UK, and Flintshire will follow suit once the details of the new system have been worked out.

Derek Kirby, head of highways strategy said: "The county council supports the principle of introducing civil parking enforcement, formerly decriminalised parking enforcement, within Flintshire.

"A report is being prepared for consideration by council members prior to preparing the relevant application for submission to the Welsh Assembly Government and setting a timescale for the introduction of civil parking enforcement and associated parking policies."
