PEOPLE in Deeside are being invited to take part in an environmental day.
The event, organised by Communities First in Higher Shotton, takes place on Monday, July 28.

Participants will meet up at the Central Drive playing fields at 10am for a litter pick followed by a healthy lunch.

During the afternoon there will be demonstrations on healthy eating and gardening by representatives from the Welsh College of Horticulture in Northop.

There will be a range of stalls offering information on everything from climate change to energy-saving ideas.

Countryside rangers will be on hand to answer questions, along with representatives from Keep Wales Tidy and Flintshire Council.

Sharon Jones, Communities First development worker, said: "The day will be very interesting and rewarding, so we encourage residents of all ages to come along."

Four skips will also be put up behind the Melrose Inn from 10am-3.30pm, allowing Higher Shotton residents to dispose of any rubbish or unwanted household items.
