A RACEHORSE has been named after one of the region's most successful businesses.
Millionaire businessman Rob Lloyd has named his newest horse Moneysupermarket after price comparison website moneysupermarket.com, which is based in St David's Park, Ewloe.
The horse, a two year-old filly bought for £60,000, was named at a ceremony at the Moneysupermarket offices.
Rob Lloyd, owner of Rob Lloyd Racing, which has operations in Halkyn and Peckforton, Cheshire, says he is pleased to have linked up with Moneysupermarket, which was founded by local entrepreneur Simon Nixon, a former pupil at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School, Flint.
Mr Lloyd said: "I'm pleased Simon agreed and allowed us to name the horse after his company.
"I'm convinced that Moneysupermarket has a bright future for punters and will provide Flintshire and both our companies with an even higher profile every time it races."
Mr Nixon, chief executive of moneysupermarket.com, said: "This is a great compliment to moneysupermarket.com and I'm delighted to make the name official."
