IN the Vale of Clwyd, Ynyr Llwyd's name and face is well recognised.
Beyond the Vale, the 20-year-old from Prion, near Denbigh is busy making a name for himself as a talented singer songwriter.

Until recently, he played guitar with local band Labrinth.

But it was back to his first love, the piano, he returned to record his first solo EP, Cilfach (Recordiau Aran) which was released a few weeks ago.

Ynyr now performs his hypnotic ballads to audiences of all ages.
His original and contemporary style is pleasing audiences across the board.

Ynyr is currently in his final year at the University of Wales Bangor studying music.

"As part of my studies I have been composing songs for Enfys, the young vocal group from the Vale of Clwyd," said Ynyr.

"I often perform with Enfys across North Wales, and at the end of this month we'll be performing at Groes Chapel outside Denbigh.

"My mother (the well known singer, Leah Owen) and I try to put together the programme for the performances," he added.

Enfys, which consists of Mared Thomas, Leah Thomas, Jade Davies, Amber Davies, Bethany Hughes, Angharad Rowlands and Steffan Hughes along with Ynyr Llwyd will be performing at Groes Chapel, near Denbigh this Sunday evening, November 30 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £6 adults, £2 children and can be obtained by calling 01745 870582.
