Teenage girl fighting for life after Wrexham car crash

A teenage girl is fighting for her life after a serious road accident near Wrexham.
Firefighters spent more than an hour at the scene of the two-car collision on the A525 Bangor Road in Marchwiel on Sunday night, freeing three trapped casualties and clearing wreckage.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident involving a Vauxhall Astra and a Nissan Almera.
The ambulance service was called and three people from the Astra were taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital – two with serious injuries and the other with minor injuries.
A teenage girl, who was a passenger in the Astra, has been transferred to Walton Hospital in Liverpool with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a teenage boy, remains in a serious condition at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Another teenage boy, who was the back seat passenger, sustained minor injuries, as did the female driver of the Almera.
Traffic was diverted at Cross Lanes but the road reopened shortly after 4am on Monday.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact officers at the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) or 0845 607 1002 (English line).
