Trashed - fury as yobs wreck youngsters' changing rooms

DEVASTATED youngsters have been left without changing facilities after vandals went on a rampage.
The heartless vandals trashed the changing rooms belonging to Brymbo Lodge Youth football club, leaving the youngsters without facilities for the rest of the season.
The changing blocks based on the Cheshire View playing fields where the teams play, have been damaged beyond repair after the rear walls were ripped off, windows smashed and the interior destroyed.
The club, which has 127 children aged between seven and 11 on their books, raised the £1,000 needed to buy the facilities three years ago and have had to continually fundraise to keep the facilities open.
A number of previous attacks by vandals meant the club had to shell out another £1,000 to reinforce the block with non-shatterable glass and grills across the windows.
Chairman, Ken Monti, said the situation was "absolutely ludicrous."
"The changing rooms have been vandalised a few times and we have repaired them but this time they have made such a mess," he said.
"They have ripped out the back panels. There are grills across the windows and non-shatterable glass and they would need a pick axe to get at them but they have managed to do it.
"It cost us over £1,000 to start with and another £1,000 to refurbish them. Where do they think we are getting the money from?
"It takes a lot of hard work to get the money in to look after the young players.
"We raise the money ourselves and it's not just me, the youngsters do a lot as well. They are dedicated to the club.
"We have 127 kids on our books so we are doing a good job in that respect and then mindless thugs go and do this."
Mr Monti said that the children used the facilities each weekend and during the week if there was a match on but said he had no idea what would happen next season.
He said: "The kids use the facilities a lot. When it's raining they stand in there to save getting soaked through and to be protected from the wind but they can't now because they are absolutely ruined."
He added that he thought a stronger police presence might help.
He said: "I often wonder if the parents know what their children are doing at night and if not then they should do.
"We do have a PCSO but no one is going round in the evening times when they can see where the youngsters are at play – if that's what you can call it."
Newly elected Brymbo councillor, Paul Rogers said the damage was not acceptable.
He said: "I want to express my disappointment at the vandals who have done this. This is for the children of the village and the surrounding areas. It is the children who will suffer most at the end of the day and people like Ken Monti, who do a lot of hard work.
"It's not the richest club and they work hard and do a lot of fundraising. It's disappointing when vandals damage that in such a way."
