TWO Wrexham schools will soon have wind turbines if Wrexham Councillors agree with planning experts at a meeting at Wrexham Guildhall on Monday.
One is earmarked for Bryn Alyn High School, Gwersyllt, and the other at Ysgol Morgan Clwyd.

There has been concern about possible noise and that they would affect neighbouring properties, but in a planning report to go to councillors, planners po
int out there is a similar turbine at Ysgol Brynteg, which has no audible noise and a TV aerial-like appearance.

Another decision to be considered at the meeting involves an application for three large display signs advertising the Odeon cinema being built at the Eagles Meadow.

There has been objections from the local community council that the size of the signs could be detrimental to the amenity of nearby residents.

The majority of the signs for these businesses are to be within the site and will not be visible from outside the buildings.

Signs on the outside of the buildings have been granted for Debenhams, Ten Pin Bowling Alley and Marks and Spencers.

The Odeon signs, while visible from nearby properties are not out of keeping with the retail development of the site and will have no detrimental impact on highway safety said chief planning officer Lawrence Isted.

All Wrexham schools should have wind turbines, they are a great idea and they help to promote the understanding of how wind turbines work.
