CUSTOMERS at Wrexham's Wetherspoon's pub will be attempting to break the world record for the largest ever wine tasting event today.
Elihu Yale is joining in with every Wetherspoon and Lloyds No.1 bar in the country with a free wine tasting at 6pm in a bid to break the Guinness World Record.

Staff have invited the Leader to adjudicate at the event, for which participants must be registered by 5.45pm.

Those taking part will be offered 50ml servings of the pub's Fetzer Coldwater Creek range along with a tasting sheet to write down their comments.

The event marks the start of the pub chain's spring wine festival which runs until June 8.

Manager Becky Jeffcock said: "The Evening Leader is a big part of the community and will be a great adjudicator.

"Participants must register by 5.45pm so it's official and staff will be handing out white, rose and red wine samples.

"We will definitely break the record and hope to have 40 to 50 people taking part at Elihu Yale."
