WREXHAM FC fans are being urged to turn out in force to welcome Dean Saunders to The Racecourse tonight – with ticket prices reduced in order to entice as many people through the turnstiles as possible.
Former Wales striker Dean Saunders made the perfect start to his managerial career with the Reds, as they twice came from behind before triumphing 3-2 at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Ticket prices for tonight's Blue Square Premier home match against York have been reduced to £10 for adults, £5 for OAPs and young people (16 to 21), with free admission for under 16s.

Wrexhan FC secretary Geraint Parry said he was delighted with the start Saunders had made – and urged fans to get behind the team and give him a huge welcome.

"We want to make a big thing of it – to get the prices down and say thank you to everybody for supporting us," he said. We got off to a good start on Saturday and that has given everybody a lift again and the place is buzzing."

Wrexham are now four points off a play-off spot and eight points behind league leaders Crawley.

Mr Parry said he was hopeful that tonight's attendance would come close to the 4,901 who turned up for the Reds' opening Blue Square Premier fixture against Stevenage.

He said: "We're not too distant from the league leaders and we want to get back in the play-offs now and push on.

"If we can get back to the first day of the season and give a big welcome Dean then that would be great."

Saunders has himself called on Wrexham fans young and old to turn up and show their support.

He said: "I hope people come and kids come.

"Kids who are playing Playstations we need to be Wrexham fans and once you are a Wrexham fan, you'll be a Wrexham fan forever.

"We have got to get them in the stadium like a 12th man."

Will you be going to watch Wrexham FC tonight?
