AN ORGANISATION which has worked for many years in the Wrexham and Chester areas offering low cost and free therapies is holding an event to celebrate its 10th birthday next month.
Rainbow Therapies was set up ten years ago by Gay Jacobsen to provide community therapy services for the local population.

An awareness-raising event is being held at Rossett Hall Hotel on Sunday, June 1 between 1pm and 6pm.

A number of health professionals will be on hand to offer treatment including iridology, desk top massage, cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, hypnotherapy, reiki, reflexology, and manicures.

With an emphasis on helping people to gain control of their own health, Rainbow Therapies have delivered thousands of therapy sessions to members of the public.

Now renamed The Rainbow Spa, the team of 20 therapists offers a much wider range of treatments than before.

Mrs Jacobsen, said her organisation had been a staunch supporter of the Welsh Assembly's Local Supplier Development Project (LSDP) since it began.

"The Rainbow Therapies is a well known name in the area thanks to a long track record of very high quality service and the company is a regular face at Wrexham Council and well-being days.

"In the past we have supported many local charities and events kindly donating spot prizes to networking evenings and have found the LSDP project highly useful in terms of finding new contacts and making new connections for business.

"All members of Rainbow Therapies have a very similar story to tell of how they came to work with Rainbow wanting to offer their newly gained skills to help the local people access free or donation-based therapy.

"This enabled us to expand as a group and become one of the most renowned companies to deliver high quality qualified staff to a wide range of charities, hotels, Wrexham Council staff, healthy schools, and pupils."

Jamie Edwards, local supplier development champion for Wrexham and Flintshire has said he is delighted to see the organisation making progress with its new approach.

He said: "Gay has gone from a not for profit community-based venture to a commercial organisation and managed that process really well.

"Rainbow Therapies have been long standing supporters of the local supplier development project and we're pleased to see the company continuing to grow and expand year on year."
