THE Wrexham family of little girl born with a serious medical condition used the occasion of her christening to raise money for the hospital that treated her.
After Bes Williams, from Gwersyllt was born at the Maelor Hospital in Wrexham earlier this year, it was discovered she had a twisted bowel.

She had to be rushed to Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool and operated on at just 11-days-old.

The surgery was a success and Bes was allowed to go home.

However a few weeks later Bes suffered an infection and came back to Alder Hey.

Again treatment was successful and Bes returned to Gwersyllt, where she is thriving.

On both occasions Bes's mum, Julie, stayed at the hospital's Ronald McDonald House accommodation block to be constantly close to her daughter, while dad Aled Llyr looked after their other daughter Ffion and travelled to Liverpool every evening.

As a thank you for the invaluable treatment Julie and Aled used the occasion of Bes's christening to collect money for Ronald McDonald House.

They asked for donations instead of presents and raised £750.

The couple have thanked everyone for their generosity and Ronald McDonald House for its invaluable support.
