YOUNGSTERS from a Rainbow group near Wrexham paid some elderly friends a visit.
The first Gresford Rainbows celebrated 21 years of caring in the community this week when they went to tea at Ashley Court residential home.

Eager to show that Rainbows care and make friends, each of the children made a friendship sunflower to remind residents of their visit.

These will be in a Rainbow vase in the lounge and the rainbows hope to be invited back in June to plant real sunflowers which they have just sown. After tea, the Rainbows sang a variety of songs to entertain the residents.

The 1st Gresford Rainbows, run by Sue Jones, are a unit of 15 girls who meet after school every Tuesday at the Gresford Scout hut.

The girls aged between five and seven enjoy lots of craft, games and singing.

As part of the Girl Guides Association more information about Rainbows can be found on the website www.girlguiding.org.uk/rainbows or by contacting Sue on 01978 853 757.
