After 87 years of playing in the Football League Wrexham FC have plummeted to the lows of non-league football.
A disastrous season saw the Reds floundering at the bottom of League 2 before finally being knocked out by Hereford United.

But instead of being downhearted about the prospect of playing in the Blue Square Premiere League we want to look back over the decades of playing in the Football League with pride.

The Evening Leader is putting together a special Wrexham FC publication with a guide for the up-coming season, plus a nostalgic round up of the past 87 years.

And we want your Wrexham FC memories – is there a game that really sticks out for you?

Do you remember the Reds surprise win over Arsenal in 1992, their promotion to the old Second Division in 1978, winning the LDV Vans Trophy in the Millennium Stadium in 2005 or their successful seasons under Brain Flynn and Denis Smith.

Whatever your memories of the Wrexham let us know about them and we'll publish them online and the best may appear in our special Wrexham FC publication

To send your memories in to us you can either leave a comment below or email digitalnews@nwn.co.uk

MY MEMORIES OF WREXHAM F.C.... begin way back in the late 60's and early 70's. We would wear any red footy shirt at lunch time to play footy in,at Acton Park Junior School.(Hello! any Acky Parkers out there). This usually made us late for registration and a rollocking from Miss,I recall. She must be a Chester fan,we thought?
This followed my first experience of a match...v's Port Vale in '69/'70 I think? Names I recall? Brian Lloyd,Ian,Ian Moir('on the wing'of course),Arfon Griffiths,Eddie May. I sat behind the goal at the Tech' End and I mean behind the goal,in front of the ad' boards! I had a few close scares with balls steaming by my head but none hit me fortunately. Sat there, very stil, with Barry Williams( hi Baz!).
Many great memories thereafter of match days and nights on the Kop,under the Bushie stand, seemingly held together by chewing gum and sellotape, and later in the new Kop stand...luxury!!
The excitement and tension of matches against Newcastle,Blythe, etc I recall and later Arsenal,Birmingham,West Ham,etc etc. Not only that but nights listening on radio to as many cup exploits as I could.
I connect every game, big and small with school friends and those times.Great atmosphere at some games, cold wind and poor tea at others, journeys to Northhants for promotion,to East London for Roosters special strike in the cup(no fog that day),to St Andrews,Brum and made it onto M.O.T.D.THAT NIGHT!
I was at the Millemium to see our cup win.(Hi,Dean). Will never forget that day.Nor driving all the way home to Essex in a jam of cars from Southend, with my red scarf flying proudly from my window. O.K.unless I had to slow down!
V's Boston end of '06/'07.(the mother of my children is from Boston.Sorry,Charl!).
Of late,to Dagenham and Barnet to be thoroughly depressed.
Took my 2yr old to his first game,at the Racecourse at Easter. 1-1 and not the best. Can't even remember the name of our opponents, that's how poor it was.
The day of relegation was expected but no l
