ANGLING - Mike's a midweek winner
Mike Ellis was the clear winner at the Buckley AA Midweek Open with a skimmer and roach net for 12lb 12oz, writes MARTIN POWELL.
Mike took the fish on the deck at 10mts on peg 40 to easily win the day. Pete Evans connected with roach shallow for second place with 10lb 2oz, with Matthew Powell in third place with 9lb 8oz.
The Sunday Open saw Steve Doring in first place with skimmers, roach and tench for 9lb 6oz. Pete Evans was again second with 8lb 13oz, and Colin Westwood closed out the frame, in third with 5lb 8oz.
Ray Haynes took a decisive win at the Offa's Dyke Open with a roach and crucian net for 9lb 8oz. Brian Riley took much of the same, for second place with 6lb 10oz. Ray Williams closed out the frame, in third place with 5lb 10oz.
Gareth Thomas won the day at the Thursday Open as Connah's Quay fished out on Wepre Park, bringing 5lb 4oz to the scales. Ben Roberts was just edged out, for second place with 5lb 2oz.Steve Bampton was third placed with 4lb 12oz.
Sunday saw the lads in action on Lingmere on the Wirral where Kev Thornton took the coin, winning the day with a level 61lb of carp. Phil Hardman brought 48lb 9oz to the scales, for second place, with Steve Bampton again third with 45lb 6oz.
Lavister travelled to Cheshire Fishery for their latest match fished out on pool two.
Steve Barwise was the convincing winner with a carp based net for 71lb 15oz. Martin Wedley was second with 51lb 9oz, leaving Barry Gabriel to collect the coin for third with 49lb 6oz.
Saint Teresa's travelled to Heronbrook where Andy Griffiths remained unbeaten in their summer series with another win returning 84lb of carp. Dave Meaney netted his way to second place with 52lb 12oz, leaving John Randles in third place with35lb 2oz.
Upton's action also saw them fish on Heronbrook where Mike Lewis took an all carp net to win the match with a level 53lb. Frankie Doran connected with 48lb 8oz of the same, for second, with Ron Barlow in third place with 46lb.
Blacon Social Club fished out their latest match on the Lake of Tranquillity where Fred Woods set a good pace and was returned the clear winner with 62lb of carp.
Tony Buckley slipped 33lb into the weigh sling, for second, and Mike Coleclough closed the frame, in third with 16lb.
Allan Murray netted his way to the weight of the week taken at the Airbus Match, fished out on Bron Eifion. Alan returned 117lb of carp to easily win the day. Steve Norman was second placed with 83lb, with Jason Rodgers in third place with 74lb.
Paul Rees won the day at the Saturday Open at Hampton Springs, netting 47lb 16oz of carp. Darren Kirk netted 38lb 14oz, for second, with Alan Nicko taking the coin for third with his 36lb 10oz return.
Sunday's Open saw Martin Wedley win the match with 87lb. John Raby was second placed on the day with 55lb 2oz with Shaun Raby in third place with 54lb 10oz.
Egerton Arms fished on the canal for their latest match where Paul Morelle won the day with 3lb 8oz. Phil Dawson was second placed with Bernard Green in third place on the day with a single roach for an ounce!
The Rake and Pikel fished on Hampton's Long Island where Jeff Williams connected with a carp-based net to win the match with 27lb 8oz. Kev Fishwick netted his way to second with his 23lb return and Dave Stuart was third placed with 22lbg.
Grosvenor close out the weeks action with their latest match, fished out on the Stock Pond, on the Estate.
John Mort was the clear winner on the day with 6lb 1oz; Norman Cadman netted his way to second place with a level 5lb, with Ron Evans closing out the week's action with 2lb 10oz.

Walgoch: Gavin Ashcroft of Holywell caught 4lb 8oz on a ptn; S Mohamed of Wrexham caught 6lb on a red wolf Ady Edwards of Gwersyllt caught 5lb 8oz on a damsel from Walgoch Nannerch.
