GRESFORD'S Owen Edwards and his partner Louise Walden have become members of the senior British squad.

The pair, who have been competing together for the last two years, have fulfilled the criteria of being squad members and are aiming to build on their success at the Welsh Championships in November.

Owen and Louise, who is from Preston, used to train at the Deeside Ice Rink, and they have both competed as internationals at novice level.

They made the decision at Easter to progress in the sport and are currently training in Lyons, France, with a view to competing in an international in September, before going on to achieve their ambition of appearing for Great Britain at the Winter Olympics.
