The gap had been narrowed to three points at the weekend when Wrexham beat rivals Chester City and results elsewhere were favourable.
That changed following the Reds' 2-1 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday, compounded by Macclesfield's 1-0 win against Dagenham and Redbridge.
Far from being disheartened, Little said Wrexham, who have three games in hand on Macclesfield who occupy the last position above the drop zone, anticipates many more twists before the end of the season.
"I still think we have got a chance," said Little.
"One of the teams, Macclesfield, has won – we won on Sunday and the others lost at the weekend.
"There are going to be a few turns here and there.
"If we lose faith because one of the teams has won then that is wrong. We have got a lot of fight in us."
Brian Little was pleased with the second half response at Wycombe having trailed 2-0 following a poor opening period but he admitted there was disappointment at not earning a point.
"A point would have been a massive point for us but it hasn't happened and we are a bit gutted," added Little. "But our fans saw us at least react and try, roll our sleeves up and get stuck in, and that's important.
"You have to dig deep. The players are disappointed. They know they have reacted properly in the second half. The respose was first class and we were unlucky.
"If we'd got a point it would have been brilliant – so we are a point behind where we would have liked to have been."
Midfielder Jeff Whitley limped off with suspected knee ligament damage in the first half at Wycombe and will miss Saturday's match against Bury at The Racecourse.
Little is hoping midfielders Danny Sonner (achilles) and Neil Roberts (ankle) return to training today, but it could be too soon for defender Steve Evans (knee).
