CHAD BOND today admitted he would be willing to join Wrexham FC on loan.
Chad Bond is currently training with Wrexham and played for an hour of Wednesday's practice match against Stockport County who won 1-0.

The 21-year-old striker is contracted at Swansea City until the end of the season but has been restricted to reserve team football at The Liberty Stadium.

Bond is in his second spell at The Championship club having been originally released by former boss Kenny Jackett in 2005.

He joined Port Talbot but was given a second chance by Roberto Martinez.

And after spending his first training session yesterday at Colliers Park, Bond said he would like to join on loan.

"I am just training at the moment," said Bond today. "Dean Saunders does not know me as a player so he is taking a look at me and hopefully I will impress.

"I will be trying to do that, maybe with a view to coming in on loan. I would do that, Wrexham is a great club. The lads have welcomed me and I have enjoyed it here.

"I am looking for first team football but there is a big squad here with everyone fighting for a place so it won't be easy.

"We will have to see how it goes, but I would be willing to come on loan if there is the option."

Bond travelled up to Wrexham on Tuesday with Swansea team-mate Joe Allen who has joined the Reds on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old midfielder made an immediate impact, scoring the opening goal and earning the man of the match award as Wrexham beat York City 3-1 at The Racecourse.

And Bond was impressed with Allen's performance.

"Joe did very well," added Bond. "He is a good player, as he will prove here, and it was a good debut. He has got the fans on side already."

Reds' assistant manager Terry Darracott said: "Chad is here for the length of time Joe is and we will look at him in training.

"Chad has joined in with the senior players, which is a good experience for him, and got a run-out against Stockport. We will keep an eye on him and see what happens."

Meanwhile, another player training with the club is former Wrexham midfielder Dave Brammer.

Brammer has been told he is free to find another club by Millwall where he had been placed on gardening leave.

Out of contract at the New Den at the end of the season, Brammer is concentrating on building up his fitness levels.

"I'm just training here and then we will see how it goes," said Brammer, who also spent time training with arch rivals Chester.

"Obviously I have missed a lot of work as I have not been playing so the new Wrexham manager said it was fine to come in and train, and I know the staff here. I will work hard and get my fitness up, and take it from there.

"I was told by Millwall manager, Kenny Jackett, he was bringing new people in and was told not to come in. I've been training on my own and that is not as good as training with a group.

"If I get fit I will look a better player - you can't play if you're not fit, so I have been doing extra work here."

Brammer admitted he would re-join the club where he began his career if things work out.

"I want to play football and at the moment this club has got its house in order," added Brammer. "But if I get the chance to be part of it I would take it.

"I was disappointed when Wrexham went out of the league. I have always had my ties with the club and it would be nice to see them back in the Football League."
