MARTIN FOYLE would not be drawn on speculation whether he would become Wrexham's new manager.
First team coach Foyle has take over team affairs with Brian Carey after Brian Little's ten month reign came to an end.

"I haven't had time to even think about anything," said Foyle, who was brought in as coach in January.

"My concerns at the moment are with Brian Little because he has looked after me.

"We just had to get this game out of the way. I am so pleased we never lost and hopefully now we can start to do something and get on a run.

"Myself and Brian Carey are professionals. So are the players, and we have just got to get on with it.

"It is a horrible job that managers are in nowadays because for me it is a no win situation for anybody."

Asked whether Little's departure was hasty, Foyle added: "That's not to do with me.

"I just worked under Brian Little. I worked 24-7 for him, and worked with honesty and commitment so that's all I can do.

"What went on between Brian and the directors is nothing to do with me."

Foyle, however, was delighted Wrexham avoided defeat against Torquay at The Racecourse, with Simon Brown cancelling out the Gulls' opener.

"After what has gone on over the last 24 hours it was still very nervy and full credit to the lads," said Foyle.

"They went 1-0 down against a bit of run of play at times. To get the equaliser just before half-time was great for team morale.

"It has been a long, horrible day. There has been a lot thrown on us very quickly.

"We understand decisions have to be made but the gaffer has been absolutely fantastic with me and he was half way through his job.

"I thought they battled very well against the odds. I am so pleased they never lost because they were on a hiding to nothing."

Foyle admitted that Wrexham hadn't had the ideal preparation in the run-up to the game.

"It was a case of just get your team out there so we had no time to prepare," added Foyle.

"We did have a team that the gaffer wanted to put out and we kept to it.

"Me, Brian and the gaffer, we did everything we thought we could do.

"We worked closely together but unfortunately that's gone so me and Brian have stepped in to help out Geoff and the club.

"We didn't have any time for anything, it has been all rush. To do your set-pieces on the pitch prior to the game is quite poor really.

"We have got to get on with it and I thought the lads showed that professional attitude which we need if we are going to go on a run."

Meanwhile, full-back Simon Spender dislocated his shoulder in injury time after falling awkwardly.

If he is apointed it will be a joke and a typical cost saving mistake, we need a new broom .

I would be happy for him to stay along side Robbie Savage as the Player/Manager.

The football we have been playing was dire.Hoofball I think they used to call it,or route one!Having said that we don't seem to have a midfield general to spread the ball about! The quality of midfield should have been addressed by him in the window so long ball is again no excuse.

Whoever takes over is accepting a poison chalice in my opinion and has his work cut out.We seem to have become the Newcastle United of the Blue Square!
