Wrexham have won all three matches since Saunders took over as manager, with the Reds up to eighth position in the Blue Square Premier table following their excellent run of form in October.
Former Wales international striker Saunders insisted it
was a fresh start for all the players when he took charge, and the likes of midfielder Silvio Spann have come in from the cold and impressed their manager.
But Saunders, who has arranged a training ground friendly against Wolves tomorrow, insisted there can be no let-up from the players if they want to keep moving up the table and keep their place in the team.
"Things are going well," said Saunders today. "We have got a bit of momentum and need to continue that, and keep it going.
"The backroom staff deserve a lot of credit for that last week as the players responded well to them.
"But we can't afford to rest on our laurels, and we have got to try and climb above the teams in front of us.
"People like Silvio have got to keep it going now.
"There are still a lot of things they have got to improve on to stay in the team.
"Players in the Premier League are there because they do it week in week out, and that applies to all of our players."
Two more players were added to the injury list at Mansfield on Saturday.
Defenders Mike Williams (concussion) and Carl Tremarco (ankle) did not take part in training yesterday and their fitness will be assessed in the run up to Saturday's FA Cup fourth round qualifying tie against Eastwood Town at The Racecourse.
Saunders, who won the competition as a player with Liverpool in 1992, has not yet decided on the side he will field against the Unibond League Premier outfit.
But Saunders says he would relish a good cup this season.
"I will have a look at that later in the week because we had a few injuries," added Saunders.
"I will have a clearer picture of what the team will be on Thursday.
"Mike had concussion and Carl hurt his ankle again. He might have to have an X-ray to check it is okay but I don't think it is too bad.
"It was a dream to win it as a kid and we have got to try and get as far as we can. We are trying to win every game we play."
Meanwhile, Wrexham will face Altrincham at Moss Lane in the third round of the Setanta Shield on Tuesday November 4 (7.45pm).
