JOE ALLEN admitted it was a memorable day after capping his Wrexham debut with a goal and a victory.
Midfielder Allen yesterday joined Wrexham on a one-month loan deal from Swansea City, with the signing completed in time for the 18-year-old to feature in last night's 3-1 win against York CIty to his delight.

"I signed the papers and came straight up here so I was really excited," said Allen.

"And I marked my debut with a nice goal and three points so it was a good day.

"I was just happy to be part of the squad so it was an added bonus when I knew I was playing, and thankfully things went well.

"I am not really one for goalscoring so I had a bit of a surprise, but I was ecstatic. It was a great atmosphere and that capped it nicely."

Allen, restricted to just one appearance at Championship outfit Swansea City this season, is hoping to play his part in Wrexham's push for promotion.

"Back at Swansea there is a lot of competition for places, we have got some great players so it is important for me to play games," added Allen.

"I think this is the perfect move for me and hopefully I can help Wrexham get back up the league.

"Dean Saunders was a massive player in the game and is still renowned so to play for him was always going to be an honour.

"I did not worry about dropping into non-league. It is still a good standard here and still a great club, and I think it will be a great expereince for me.

"Wrexham are too big a club to be in the league it is in so I would to be part of a winning side who can get us back up into the Football League."
