The midfielder, who has one Wales cap to his name, is one of a number of Wrexham players who are out of contract at the end of the season.
Reds' boss Brian Little has stressed that Wrexham will undergo massive changes during the summer as part of his rebuilding programme and a number of players' futures at The Racecourse are up in the air.
And although he would like to stay at a club where he has progressed through the ranks, Jones, who has not featured in the Reds' first team since recovering from a torn hamstring picked up in the defeat at Grimsby Town on January 12, wants to be playing regular football.
"I don't know what's happening at the end of the season yet," said Jones today. "I just want to sort things out pretty soon, so I'll have to see how it goes.
"I would like to stay on if I'm playing.
"I just want to be playing football."
Jones is back to full-fitness following the hamstring problem, but the 24-year-old, has been overlooked in Wrexham's bid to avoid relegation.
And with just four matches remaining, Jones is hoping to play some part before the end of the campaign: "I was in agony at Grimsby. It was a struggle to put my socks on and get changed properly," he said.
"I was out for about a month-and-a-half but I have been fit for over a month now. I just haven't been picked.
"I've played a few games in the reserves and I would like to be playing in the first team by the end of the season,
"If the gaffer wants to put me in by the end of the season I would be delighted.
"It looks as if our season is probably over now. It has been a very disappointing year.
"It has been disappointing for two years now and we just seem to have gone backwards this season, worse than ever before."
Injuries have affected Jones' season, limiting the Rhos-born midfielder to just 15 starts.
Although he was taken off in the reserves' match last week with a thigh problem, that was more of a precaution and Jones is expected to be involved when the Reds' second string face Chester City in the mini-derby at Buckley Town's Globe Way tonight (7pm).
And Jones rued the injuries which have prevented him from enjoying a run in the side: "I have been unlucky with a few injuries and it has been a very disappointing season," he added.
"I have needed a run of games in the side but I have not had that because of injuries.
"To be playing well you need a good run, and I have not been able to put a run together in the side.
"But I have been fit for over a month now. It's just I have not been getting in the first team.
"My thigh was a bit tight in the reserve game last week and I did not want to carry on in case I pulled it.
"But I was straight back in training and everything is fine."
