KYLE CRITCHELL misses Wrexham's first ever league match against Salisbury City with an ankle injury.
Critchell was stretchered off in yesterday's training session at Colliers Park after a challenge and taken to hospital for an x-ray, but it is not yet known how long the Wales under 21 international will be out.
And the summer signing, who missed the first three games after serving a suspension carried over from when he was with Weymouth, feared the worst.
"It is just my ligaments I have done but it could have been worse as my first fears were that it was my Achilles tendon," said Critchell. "If it had been I would have been out a lot longer.
"It is sore and the next 48 hours will determine how long I'm out for."
Brian Little could also be without left-sided Neil Taylor, yet to make a start this season, who has not trained this week because of tonsillitis, but centre-back Nat Brown is close to a return after missing the last three matches with a groin strain.
And Little, who hinted at making changes following Monday's disappointing 1-1 draw at Altrincham, will make final checks today before the overnight trip to Salisbury.
"In an ideal world everyone would be fit and not miss games but that very rarely happens," said Little today.
"We have got options, that's we have got a squad of 24 or 25 players.
"We had a plan but certain things stop you changing too much.
"Neil has been ill and Kyle has ruled himself out of the equation. But Nat has been making good progress and he might be in the equation."
Despite not having seen his side record a victory in three away outings, Little is confident Wrexham are close to finding that winning formula.
"We have to look at everything and analyse it," added Little. "Is there something we can do different?
"Every game we are going out to win But we have scored more than anyone else, and conceded less, so we are going in the right direction.
"There are little bits we need to brush up on to help us win games.
"We are bordering on close to getting it right. Collectively we have to find that final little touch to win away games."
