A FINANCE company has pledged to back Wrexham FC until the end of the 2012 season in a deal said to be worth a six figure sum.
Leasedirect Finance have agreed to extend their sponsorship arrangements with Wrexham FC beyond the existing contract that already takes them up to the end of next season, for a further two years into 2009/10 and 2010/11.

The announcement comes as a boost following Wrexham's relegation to the Blue Square Premier League and Mr Buchanan said that the move is a reflection of the company's confidence in the running of the club.

Paul Buchanan, managing director of the Ewloe-based commercial finance company, said: "The partnership over the past two seasons with Wrexham has been highly enjoyable and we are confident that the club will bounce straight back into the Football League, and see no reason why we shouldn't continue to back Wrexham towards this goal.

"I also think it is important for Leasedirect to set an example to the rest of the business community in North Wales that continuing to back Wrexham, the only major football club in the locality, is important for the area as a whole, as the club is a focal point for the passions of a great number of people."

Mr Buchanan suggested that the company will be doing even more to help boost the club's future over the coming months.

"Hopefully we will shortly be offering some further incentives to help with the resurgence of the club," he added

Wrexham's chief executive Anthony Fairclough said the new deal was evidence that the club was building long-term partnerships with its clients and praised Leasedirect for the innovative package of incentives it has also introduced for players and supporters.

Speaking at the launch of the deal, Wrexham FC's Chief Executive Anthony Fairclough said: "Once again I have been overwhelmed by the outcome of negotiations with Leasedirect.

"They have proved themselves to be an innovative sponsor in the past and once again have shown their true commitment to the long term future of this football club.

"I hope that other businesses in the area will follow suit and continue to back the club, as we all look to give Brian Little the best possible platform for gaining success as quickly as possible."

Yesterday, Wrexham manager Brian Little said that he will be making "wholesale changes" to the playing staff following the club's relegation and that he is already being very active in bringing new players in. Little is looking to compile a squad of 24 players ahead of the 2008-2009 season.
