Although unbeaten in three friendlies at The Racecourse against Championship opponents Wolves (1-0) and Blackpool (0-0), and League One side Crewe Alex (0-0), where they did not concede a goal, Wrexham only scored once themselves through a Wes Baynes
free kick.
Wrexham travel to Colwyn Bay on Saturday and then wrap up their pre-season programme the following weekend at Stafford, and Little hopes to see goals from his side in those two friendlies.
And he is confident Wrexham's attacking play will pay off when the Reds' Blue Square Premier campaign begins next month.
"There is some concern about us not scoring loads of goals but we are not going to wipe the floor with Championship sides," said Little today.
"And Crewe tested us more than the other two sides – it was a good exercise.
"I understand the concern about goals but my major issue was the goals we gave away last season.
"We can put more into games going forward against teams in the same league so hopefully that side will take care of itself.
"It would have been great to win all three but it is nice to be competitive.
"Ultimately we are trying to prepare for August 9 and I feel fairly comfortable up to now.
"We are by no means ready – but I feel we are going in the right direction.
"I am happy with the way we have got the group of players working together."
As well as sending a team to play Unibond League Division One side Colwyn Bay, Wrexham will also be involved in another behind closed doors friendly on Saturday morning.
Little, having fielded two sides for 45 minutes each in previous friendlies, wants to give players 90 minute run-outs and he will be present at both matches as he continues to work out his best starting line-up for the big kick-off.
But he admits his plans all depend on the availability of players who missed Tuesday's stalemate with Crewe because of injury.
"The injured players stepped it up with Mel Pejic yesterday and hopefully they will train with us today," said Little.
"We will see how the lads go and take it from there, but that will dictate what we do Saturday.
"We wanted to make sure they all got more time under their belts because Saturday is all about fitness.
"We've got two games and I would think everyone would get 90 minutes in one game.
"But we might have to change our plans if five or six are still injured. If everyone is fit, I will give them all 90 minutes."
Little stressed that getting 90 minutes for match fitness was the priority, and said conclusions should not be drawn on what fixture players feature in.
"We are at the point where I want everyone to play a game," he said.
"I will be at both games and, irrespective of which game people play in, I don't think it means anything.
"I will pick two teams to get fitness levels up to spec.
"Then we have two weeks until the first league game and that is the last part of getting fitness right, and to make sure we are ready for that first game.
"There are no other thoughts than fitness on Saturday."
But Little admitted he is beginning to forge ideas about his starting line-up when Wrexham begin their campaign against Stevenage Borough on August 9.
"We have got ideas about what the side will be," he added.
"Myself, Martin Foyle and Brian Carey talk every day and assess how the team has played in matches, and how partnerships have worked.
"People out there are still querying the players which is nice.
"No-one has let themselves down in games, while some will have come off thinking they have done well and others thinking they could have done more.
"But everyone is champing at the bit."
Little is still monitoring two trialists – striker Adam Smith and midfielder Christian Smith – who both played against Crewe, in the run-up to both weekend friendlies.
