Wrexham's 1-0 victory at Notts County means they are now six points adrift of safety with three games remaining, although the Reds do have a game in hand on the three sides above them.
Although he knows Wrexham still have it all to do, Little is delighted to still have a chance of avoiding relegation after ending a run of seven games without a win.
"We have been searching for that for a few weeks. You feel the different mentality it gives people and it is a shame it took so long," said Little.
"We will just see what happens. We can't get too carried away but it was nice to win.
"We haven't given up. Yes, we are looking at games in the other division because we have to be as prepared as we possibly can."
Little rang the changes after seeing the Reds pick up just two points from their previous seven outings.
Six changes were made as Little opted to give the club's youngsters a chance in place of senior professionals, and of the 11 signings made since taking he took charge in November, only keeper Gavin Ward was named in the starting eleven.
And Little, who does not anticipate wholesale changes for tomorrow's vital game at Hereford, was delighted with how the young players performed: "We worked hard and I thought the younger players did really well," he said.
"People might ask why haven't I played the kids sooner but if you look at Shrewsbury, if the young lads had a couple of months of losing games you might even slow their career down in many respects.
"Today was the right time - nothing to lose and at home which was important.
"It was easy to pick the team based on us being at home. I probably will go similar again tomorrow but it is a different test for them, away from home against a side who are currently third.
"It was nice to see young players come in amongst a couple of experienced lads and get a good result."
Wes Baynes, Mike Williams, Shaun Pejic, Levi Mackin and Andy Fleming were all handed rare starts by Little along with the returning Steve Evans.
And Conall Murtagh was introduced as a second half substitute alongside Danny Williams, and Little was pleased with the midfield duo's contribution.
"I was pleased with everybody. I thought we got better as the game went on which was good," added Little.
"We made the changes because we thought the two young players (Mackin and Fleming) were starting to get tired. It was a great stage for them to get involved and I thought they both did very well.
"But putting Danny in there just gave us a little bit more experience and Conall is just a little bit older and stronger than the other two. I was pleased for them."
