Little's positive outlook

BRIAN LITTLE believes Wrexham have taken huge strides in the last two months.
Having seen his side go six games unbeaten with some impressive results against teams challenging for promotion, Little said the outlook was more positive now.
"No-one can criticise our effort or workrate, and I do think we have made progress in the last few weeks," said Little. "We have become a different team, and better. If people disagree, I can handle that.
"All the lads are digging in and we have not lost any spirit or belief.
"I hope we win a few games now, but you can't just talk about it. Hopefully the players provide that by doing it on the pitch.
"The next few games we need to grind out results."
Although disappointed with Tuesday's result, Little could not fault the performance of his team, and said: "We had a setback on Tuesday, not in the way we played but in the result."
"We felt we were unlucky and did okay. We did not disgrace ourselves and a point would have made everyone happy, but there is a fine line between what's great and what's not.
"We just have to keep doing what we have been doing. Our defence has looked solid, but it would be nice to take a chance or two because the problem at the moment is we are not scoring goals."
But Little has injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's crucial game.
Centre-back Steve Evans is almost certainly out after picking up a knee ligament injury in Tuesday's match, while right-back Simon Spender has been struggling with a hip problem.
Midfielder Danny Sonner (achilles) missed the visit of Peterborough and may be in line for a return if he is able to train today.
If Evans is ruled out, defender Richard Hope could be in line for a return, although Little may opt to change from a 3-5-2 formation.
And Little was considering naming Danny Williams in the squad having seen the midfielder come through two reserve team matches following his long lay off after back surgery.
"I keep saying to players that they can't afford to let themselves go, and they have to keep themselves right for when they are needed," added Little. "Someone will get the chance tomorrow."
