LEVI MACKIN is determined to see Wrexham hit back from their first league defeat since September 23.
Wrexham's run of five consecutive wins in the Blue Square Premier – all under new boss Dean Saunders – ended when they were beaten 1-0 at Kidderminster Harriers.

And midfielder Mackin is looking for the Reds to bounce back when they travel to Stevenage Borough on Saturday.

"We are gutted because it is the first defeat under the gaffer in the league," said Mackin.

"We have got to pick ourselves up and do again.

"If we can have a good week training, hopefully we can bounce back with a win on Saturday.

"We will try and put this behind us and hopefully turn it around."

Mackin was happy with the Reds' performance at Kidderminster but disappointed they did not take advantage of the scoring chances that came their way.

"We are disappointed because we hit the post on numerous occasions," said Mackin.

"We had a few good attacks as well and we looked solid apart from a couple of occasions like when they scored.

"They seemed a well organised team and they got the goal but we had better of the game.

"That's how it goes. Some weeks it has gone for us while today it went against us."

Mackin has started the majority of games this season but after being ommited from the squad in the win at Weymouth the previous weekend, was named as a substitute at Kidderminster.

And Mackin, who was brought on with three minutes remaining, is hoping to win his starting place back.

"I was disappointed last weekend but I was on the bench today so hopefully I can try and get back in the team," added Mackin.

"It has been a good season for me and I have got to keep trying to push on."
