SHAUN PEJIC believes Wrexham have got nothing to lose as they continue their bid to avoid relegation against Hereford United at Edgar Street (7.45pm).
Wrexham take on the promotion chasing Bulls on the back of a morale boosting 1-0 win against fellow strugglers Notts County at the weekend.

Victory leaves rock bottom Wrexham six points adrift of safety with just three games remaining.

And although Wrexham still only have faint hopes of beating the drop, centre-back Pejic said the Reds head for Hereford in good spirits.

"Hopefully we can grind out another three points, and then you never know what can happen then," said Pejic today.

"The gaffer put out a young team and said there is no pressure on us. He has said to go out there and show what we can do, and prove people wrong.

"We work well for each other, and there is a lot of energy there.

"We have got nothing to lose and are going there positive.

"We are going out there with no fear so hopefully we can get a result."

Wrexham will be aiming to do something tonight that they have been unable to achieve all season – win two consecutive matches.

And although the Reds remain in a perilous position despite ending a seven game winless run, Pejic has not altogether dismissed the Reds' chances of pulling clear of trouble.

"There are three games left and it would be nice to win two in a row," said Pejic.

"We have got a slight chance of staying up, but we are just taking each game as it comes.

"We are a young team and if you start worrying about our position, it will affect your game. You have to remain positive.

"I am looking forward to another run-out and if we win, who knows.

"It might just put pressure on the teams above us if we can win, and confidence will be high going into the last two games.

"I know it is not looking good but if we do well tonight you never know."

But Pejic is not under-estimating the task that faces Wrexham tonight as third place Hereford aim to continue their bid to secure the third and final automatic promotion berth.

"It will be a tough game," said Pejic. "Hereford are pushing for promotion so they will be looking for a win.

"But we are up for the game and if we can get an early goal you never know."
Pejic is likely to keep his place in the side after manager Brian Little rang the changes for Saturday's visit of Notts County.

That was Pejic's first start since the 2-2 draw at Morecambe on January 29, although the 25-year-old lined up in an unorthodox right-back position.

Delighted to have been recalled, Hereford-born Pejic is looking forward to playing his home-town club.

"It has been a frustrating season," added Pejic. "I have not played much at all the last four months but I was pleased to be in the team on Saturday.

"You just have to stay fit, and my chance came.

"I was happy with my performance. Right-back is not my natural position but I thought I did quite well.

"We did well as a team and I was delighted we won.

"I am looking forward to the game. I was born in Hereford and moved when I was about eight or nine but it is always nice to go back there."
