No hard feelings between Brian Little and Paul Carden

BRIAN LITTLE is adamant there is no ill feeling between himself and Paul Carden ahead of Wrexham's clash against Cambridge United at The Abbey Stadium.
Carden was Little's first signing of the summer when he agreed to join Wrexham from Accrington Stanley but the midfielder made a U-turn and decided to take up the assistant manager's position alongside Gary Brabin who had been named as Cambridge's new manager.

And with Carden set to line up against Wrexham, Little was treating the match like any other: "If anyone wants to make something out of it then fine but it is not an issue to me," he said today.

"It is part of football, you just get on with it. I come up against people on a regular basis I have bought and sold.

"I wish Paul well, there is no problem. If it is the right move for him then great, but there are no hang-ups about it."

Wrexham have fallen a goal behind in five of their seven matches so far this season, with a defensive mistake handing Burton the lead on Tuesday.

"It is disappointing to have gone behind five times," said Little. "And I can't think of many being good goals. The one the other night was completely our fault; it was a big deflection at Salisbury, and we were unlucky with a deflection when we should have cleared against Altrincham.

"It shows how important the first goal is. If you go behind at The Racecourse, teams will dig in and make it difficult.

"But we have seen teams open up and give us chances when they've gone ahead, so we have seen both sides of it."

And Little believes a draw would have been a fair result against Burton after Simon Brown twice hit the woodwork and came close on another occasion.

"We did not play great against Burton," he added. "The goal knocked us but we tried hard to get back into it without playing well.

"They held onto the lead but we had some good efforts, like hitting the bar, and should have scored.

"A draw would have been a fair result and looking at the other results on the night, it would have been a good point.

"We will dust ourselves down and go again."
