NEIL ROBERTS today described the 'hurt' of going out of the Football League.
"I'm lost for words – devastated," said Wrexham's crestfallen captain. "I'm hoping everyone is hurting, because they should do.

"We have put in what is a poor season.

"Obviously we have let the fans and the club down, but we have let ourselves down as well and that should be the thing that hurts most.

"It is a nightmare and not nice.

"It was always going to be a hard ask but we started off brightly.

"The first 40 minutes or so I thought we were in with a shout to be honest. I felt quite confident we were defending well enough and we created chances as well.

"Again, the manner in which we conceded is heartbreaking – especially with what is at stake.

"And then the second was not a good goal – same old story.

"What is it? Lapse in concentration? I don't know, but it is why we are where we are, and what's happened.

"It is really hard to take. I don't think it has really sunk in with me yet and probably won't until I probably get in tonight."
