NEIL Roberts' second half strike was enough to earn Wrexham three points in a scrappy encounter with Notts County.

Brian Little made wholesale changes to the side that lost at Shrewsbury on Sunday, handing starting places to Shaun Pejic, Steve Evans, Mike Williams, Neil Taylor, Wes Baynes, Levi Mackin, Andrew Fleming.

Michael Jones and Conall Murtagh were also handed places on the bench.

But despite enjoying plenty of possession, the Reds were unable to make it count and had keeper Gavin Ward to thank in the 16th minute when he tipped Danny Crow's effort around the post.

And with 15 minutes remaining, skipper Roberts produced a fine finish after County failed to deal with Wes Baynes' free kick.

Wrexham held on to earn three points - their first in seven games - and keep alive their faint hopes of avoiding relegation.

Wrexham: Ward, Pejic, Steve Evans, Mike Williams, Taylor, Baynes, Mackin (71 Danny Williams), Fleming (71 Murtagh), Done (90 Gareth Evans), Roberts, Marc Williams.

Subs not used: Jones, Proctor
