STEVE EVANS believes it is now time for Wrexham to prove they are capable of challenging for promotion.
Wrexham FC face Forest Green at The New Lawn tomorrow (3pm) in Dean Saunders' first game in charge.

Admitting that Wrexham have under-performed this season, centre-back Evans is looking for a big improvement: "It has been a difficult time," he sai
d.

"Obviously I wish Brian Little all the best for the future but we all know it is a results game and things have got to improve.

"It has not been good enough. We have to show we are good enough to get out of this league.

"It is a new start, a clean slate for everyone. We've got to prove to the gaffer we are good enough to get in the side, and have got to go out and get the results."

Wales international Evans is no stranger to Saunders who is assistant to national manager John Toshack, and he spoke highly about Saunders.

"I have worked with the gaffer and he knows his stuff," added Evans. "He is a decent coach who just wants to play football and hopefully things will work out well for him.

"I am sure the lads will enjoy working with him. I've liked working with him with Wales and am looking forward to working with him at Wrexham."

Kyle Critchell and Simon Spender are both ruled out tomorrow with long term injuries and Gareth Evans is also missing, while Carl Tremarco is a doubt.
